There are many ways to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful but there might come a time when you’ll need a little extra help with cosmetic dentistry to get your teeth as stunning and strong as they can be. At Wurzbach Parkway Family Dental you’ll be incredibly satisfied with our cosmetic procedure called “One Crown Visit”.

What’s a one crown visit, you ask? It’s a quick cosmetic dentistry procedure done right in the office lab. This procedure simply requires some pictures that we take in the office, no messy impressions or molds. Then we create your porcelain crown and install it immediately. The entire process takes no more than two hours. The great thing about using porcelain is that it’s metal free. There will never be any risk of rust or other complications that can arise when using metal in cosmetic dentistry procedures. Another wonderful thing about the one crown visit at Wurzbach Parkway Family Dental is that there are no temporaries. A common compliant among patients is the need to wear the temporary crowns while a permanent crown is made. With the one crown visit, your crown is made and cemented and you’re ready to leave in two hours.

Are you wondering how this intricate procedure can be performed so simply and quickly? With a technology called CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics). This is a dental restoration product that Dentists use to produce a dental restoration using a variety of computer-assisted technologies, including 3D photography. With CEREC, teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the patient, rather than the multiple sittings required with earlier techniques. At Wurzbach Parkway Family Dental this process is no longer than two hours in most cases.

Your practitioner refines the 3D image and uses images from surrounding teeth to make sure the fit is perfectly comfortable. When the designing is complete, the information is sent milling unit, which cuts the actual restoration from a solid block of material using diamond burs. The new crown is fused to the tooth using a type of cement which bonds to both the crown and the tooth.
